Laser Therapy Provides Pain Relief and Hastens Recovery
Bayside Animal Hospital is excited to offer laser therapy as a non-invasive treatment for patients that are experiencing chronic pain, such as arthritis, and acute pain occurring from surgery or injury. Laser therapy is a drug-free alternative that is especially helpful to pets that may experience ill effects from the use of conventional medication. Patients may start feeling pain relief within the hour and the time they’ll need to recover from surgery or injuries will be noticeably shorter. Whether your pet is healing after traumatic injury or suffering from a prolonged and painful ailment, laser therapy will alleviate the aches and help restore your pet’s full range of motion.
What can laser therapy treat?
Laser therapy has a wide range of uses and many patients benefit from its soothing effects. We have found it to effectively treat or soothe pain caused by:
- Suture sites
- Hip dysplasia
- Bone fractures
- Injuries to ligaments and tendons
- And more
How does it work?
When a trained veterinary technician applies cold laser beam to the affected areas on your pet, the tissues and cells immediately absorb the light. This process stimulates cell production and regrowth, reduces swelling, and increases blood flow. Most pets look forward to their treatments because it offers speedy relief for several hours after administration of the treatment.
Can my pet receive laser therapy?
Bayside Animal Hospital offers packages to purchase at discounted rates. Once you have purchased these in advance, you may come in at your convenience and it may be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Please try to call ahead, as the machine needs some preparation before it is ready to treat your pet. Laser therapy is rewarding for everyone. Both staff and clients are relieved to see pets benefit from the relief.
