Quality Surgical Services at Bayside Animal Hospital
When your pet comes to Bayside Animal Hospital for surgery, they will receive the same compassion and patient monitoring that human patients do. Our patients are closely observed from the moment they are dropped off with us. Throughout the procedure, two nurses are assigned to each animal to support and monitor the pet’s temperature, blood pressure, and breathing. Those same nurses then carefully bring the patients to consciousness, waiting right beside them, managing their pain levels, and attending to them until they are able to stand on their own.
Bayside Animal Hospital offers general veterinary surgery by appointment on weekdays. We conduct pre-anesthetic diagnostic tests and a thorough physical exam prior to the day of the surgery. Precautionary blood testing and exams help us determine if our patients have an illness or other complications that would put them at risk during surgery. The safety of our patients is our top priority and decisions regarding surgery are based on the results of these tests.
Our team of animal care experts can perform a variety of surgical services, including:
- Mass/tumor removals
- Papilloma removals
- Exploratory surgery
- Soft tissue surgeries
- Cystotomy (bladder stone removal)
Pets feel pain and discomfort in the same ways that we do and deserve the same careful attention to their pain management. The team at Bayside Animal Hospital takes a proactive approach when monitoring and addressing their patient’s pain levels. We feel our patients are as entitled to careful pain assessment and treatment as human patients.
We do that by following all of AAHA’s requirements to the letter, including the practice of rating and documenting animal pain levels on a 1-10 scale. Bayside Animal Hospital is also proud to offer clients the option of pet laser therapy to mitigate pain and accelerate healing during your pet’s recovery.

Always feel like Quincy receives the best care, and assessment. He's made to feel relaxed, and comfortable, and he gets excited when he realizes he is going to the vet. Previously, at other vets, he was always very stressed. We are lifelong customers. — Geri Vidimos

Our first experience was amazing. Once we walked through the doors, Everyone we came into contact with was so welcoming. The tech was so calm and sweet with my pup and Dr. Shepherd was very thorough in his examination and listened to all of my concerns as well as went over the X-rays with me thoroughly while also making a plan for referral. He definitely gained our trust, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future. Thank y'all all so much. 😉 — Mary Hopkins
